Rajasthan's Om Metals Infraprojects Ltd says it has received project orders for IT parks, slum rehabilitation and residential apartments. These contracts, located in Jaipur, Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, bear testimony to the company's diversified activities that already comprise power, real estate, port, hotels, multiplexes and amusement centres.

The company, formerly Om Metals Ltd, has acquired 50 acres of land at Airoli Knowledge Park in Navi Mumbai. "We are executing the project in joint venture with B. Rahejas," S.K. Jain, Chief Financial Officer, said. The park will be developed on a built-up area of around 5 million sq. ft.

A second IT park is slated to come up on 12 acres at a prime location in Jaipur. It will occupy 1 million sq. ft space and cater to IT, ITES and other IT related services.
"Both the projects will take four years to complete," Jain said.

The company has also been allotted seven acres at Bandra Reclamation, Mumbai, for Rs 107 crore to construct a residential and commercial complex under the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) scheme. The high-end apartment building project will be completed in March 2009.

In recent years, the company has been buying property in Navi Mumbai. "We are coming up with shopping malls-cum-multiplexes on these properties called 'City Centre' and 'Palm Beach Galleria', which are expected to open in October this year," Jain explained. A group company is developing, by December 2007, a commercial complex, call centre and hotel at Om Arcade near Turbhe Railway Station.

Om Metals Infraprojects Ltd, the parent company of Om Kothari Group, is also executing projects in Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
